Burlington Campground - Humboldt Redwoods State Park

The Burlington Campground in Humboldt Redwoods State Park offers the amazing opportunity to camp among the Coast Redwoods. You can camp in the shade of these giant trees.

    Burlington Campground

The campground is located next to the Humbolt Redwoods State Park visitor center. This is a great location for exploring the Avenue of the Giants and the entire state park.

The campsites were nicely spaced out and had quite a bit of shade from the giant redwoods. The campground has an easy to maneuver loop drive between sites.

There is a picnic table, bear box, and fire ring at each site. You will want to be prepared for the shade and cool weather in the campground.

Dressing in layers and packing extra blankets is definitely something to plan for. While we were in the campground it was definitely cool and we wanted extra layers.

Number of Sites: 57 sites along with 3 hiker/biker campsites

Location in the park: Next to the visitor center

Campsite Cost: $ $35.00 per night and include one vehicle. Extra vehicles are $8.00 per vehicle, per night.

Insect repellent is always a great idea outdoors, especially around any body of water.

We use Permethrin Spray on our clothes before our park trips.  Please read my article on preventing biting insects while enjoying the outdoors.

Sunscreen - I buy environmentally friendly sunscreen whenever possible because you inevitably pull it out at the beach.

Bring your water bottle and plenty of water with you. Plastic water bottles are not sold in the park.

Sunglasses - I always bring sunglasses with me. I personally love Goodr sunglasses because they are lightweight, durable, and have awesome National Park Designs from several National Parks like Joshua Tree, Yellowstone, Hawaii Volcanoes, Acadia, Denali, and more!

Click here to get your National Parks Edition of Goodr Sunglasses!

Binoculars/Spotting Scope - These will help spot birds and wildlife and make them easier to identify. We tend to see waterfowl in the distance, and they are always just a bit too far to identify them without binoculars.
