Bahia Honda State Park Camping
Bahia Honda State Park is a campers dream come true! The park is located on the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, with some of the most beautiful white-sand beaches anywhere!
The park has several day-use areas for visitors to enjoy. Bahia Honda SP also has a gift shop, snack bar, and dive shop where visitors can get breakfast and lunch snacks like sandwiches, biscuits, hamburgers, and ice cream. You can also rent beach chairs, umbrellas, snorkeling equipment, and kayaks.
Whatever drives you to Bahia Honda State Park, remember to bring your sunscreen!
Bahia Honda State Park is located on Big Pine Key (in the Florida Keys), 36 miles North of Key West and 128 miles South of Miami.
The park has three campgrounds, each offering overnight camping.
- Buttonwood Campground (sites 1-48) can accommodate small tents and RVs from small to large. Each site has a gravel parking pad with electric/water hookups, picnic tables, and grills.
- Sandspur Campground (sites 49-72) can accommodate tents and camping rigs up to 23 feet long from hitch to bumper. (Larger vehicles are unable to navigate the sharp turns in this campground loop.) Each site has a gravel parking pad with electric/water hookups, picnic tables, and grills.
- Bayside Campground (sites 73-80) is a primitive campground, and all vehicles must be able to drive under the Bahia Honda Bridge with an EXTREMELY LOW OVERHEAD of 6 feet and 8 inches. Each site has a picnic table, grill, and water. A small restroom is nearby, but you will have to go to the Buttonwood campground to use the bathhouse with hot showers.
Hammock camping is designated on campsites 45 and 73.
Bahia Honda State Park Entrance Fee
Park entrance fees are separate from camping and lodging fees.
The park charges a daily entrance fee per private vehicle with 2 to 8 occupants.
