    Grant Grove - Kings Canyon National Park

    Grant Grove is located in the western portion of Kings Canyon National Park, California. The grove includes the General Grant Tree, John Muir Lodge, Village, and Visitor Center. This is an incredibly popular part of the park.

    We are excited to share all of the amazing things you can see and do within the Grant Grove. If you are looking for a place to stay or have lunch in Kings Canyon you will find it here.

    Grant Grove Visitor Center

    The visitor center is packed with interpretive panels, a park movie, and a gift store. The visitor center is a great place to stop for information.

    One bonus is there is free wifi at the visitor center. It is the only place we were able to connect and check emails.

    Village Gift Shop

    The Grant Grove Village Gift shop is located in Grant Grove 3 miles from the Kings Canyon Big Stump entrance.  Grant Grove Gift Shop features a wide range of souvenirs, outdoor items, and keepsakes.

    If you are looking for a gift or something to commemorate your trip to Kings Canyon NP this is a great place to visit.

    Village Market

    The Grant Grove Village Market is one part supermarket one part camping supply store. This is a great place to re-stock up on beer, wine, camping supplies, and treats.

    In the winter the store has ski and snowshoe rentals along with tire chains, boots, coats, hats, and gloves.

    Daily Hours - 7 am to 9 pm

    Grant Grove Village Restaurant

    Grant Grove Village Restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner with scenic views over Bradley Meadow.

    There is a large courtyard area with picnic tables, indoor seating, and an outdoor deck. The restaurant features a fireplace, large windows, vaulted ceilings, and a modern kitchen.

    If you are in a rush you can use the walk-up service window on the exterior to purchase to-go items like pizza, sandwiches, coffee, and in the summer ice cream.

    Grant Grove Village US Post Office

    The Grant Grove Village US Post Office is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 4 pm.

    You can mail postcards and letters home and have them stamped from Grant Grove!

    John Muir Lodge

    John Muir Lodge offers the opportunity to stay in a lodge near Grant Grove and the General Grant Tree.

    The John Muir Lodge has 36 rooms available year-round.  The lodge is located truly in the heart of Kings Canyon NP.

    It is the perfect place to stay so you have all day to explore this gorgeous park.

    There are two different types of Grant Grove Cabins! One is a wood cabin the other is a tent style. You will want to make sure which one you are reserving.

    • Mobility accessible cabin is available. The shared central bathhouse has a roll-in shower and a toilet with grab bar.

    Tent Cabin

    Built-in 1910, this cabin is the oldest structure still standing in Grant Grove Village

    Site 33 Azalea Campground - Kings Canyon

    Grant Grove Campgrounds

    The closest campgrounds to the Grant Grove are the Azalea Campground, Crystal Springs Campground, and Sunset Campground.

    Escape Campervan in front of a hotel

    For a fun adventure check out Escape Campervans. These campervans have built in beds, kitchen area with refrigerators, and more. You can have them fully set up with kitchen supplies, bedding, and other fun extras. They are painted with epic designs you can't miss!

    General Grant Tree

    While not located directly in Grant Grove you can't really visit this area and not head over to the General Grant Tree.

    This world-famous tree is located about a mile from the visitor center. There are hiking trails from the visitor center to the Grant Tree or you can drive and there is a large parking lot

    Trust me when I say you do not want to miss the opportunity to gaze in wonder at not only the General Grant Tree but all of the giant Sequoia trees in this grove.

    Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park Entrance Fee

    Park entrance fees are separate from camping and lodging fees.

    Park Entrance Pass - $35.00 Per private vehicle (valid for 1-7 days from the date of purchase)

    Park Entrance Pass - Motorcycle - $30.00 Per motorcycle (valid for 1-7 days from the date of purchase)

    Per-Person Entrance Pass - $20.00 Visitors 16 years or older who enter on foot, bicycle, or as part of an organized group not involved in a commercial tour.

    Annual Park Entrance Pass - $70.00, Admits pass holder and all passengers in a non-commercial vehicle. Valid for one year from the month of purchase.

    $20.00 for Non-commercial group (16+ persons)

    $45.00-75.00 for commercial sedan with 1-6 seats ($25.00 plus $20.00 per passenger)

    $75.00 for commercial van with 7-15 seats

    $100.00 commercial Mini-bus with 16-25 seats

    $200.00 for commercial Motor Coach with 26+ seats

    $80.00 - For the America the Beautiful/National Park Pass. The pass covers entrance fees to all US National Park Sites and over 2,000 Federal Recreation Fee Sites for an entire year and covers everyone in the car for per-vehicle sites and up to 4 adults for per-person sites.
