Kintla Lake Campground - Glacier National Park

Reaching Kintla Lake Campground in Glacier National Park is taking a bit of the road less traveled. You will be on dirt roads most of the way to the campground. The drive to the campground is peaceful and absolutely gorgeous.

We saw a ton of deer along the way. It felt like an area you would see bears but we did not see any during our drive. One thing I will say is to make sure you use the bathroom in Polebridge before heading up to the campground. There are no restrooms along the way and you will be bouncing along the dirt road.

While in Polebridge pick up a huckleberry bear claw or three to enjoy on your way the campground.

This is a small campground that is first come first served. The campground is located near Kintla Lake. You will want to be prepared for mosquitos and have bug spray with you.

The campground does fill up in July and August so you may want to head there early on the morning you want to get into the campground.

Plan at least an hour to ninety minutes to reach the campground from the north entrance to the park. It could take longer depending on the wildlife along the way and how many cars you see.

It is a small dirt road so be ready for cars coming at you that may not know how to manage a small road. We had to pull off pretty far on the side of the road a few times to help other cars coming towards us.
