Tyler Bend Campground - Buffalo National River

Tyler Bend Campground is Buffalo National River offers the opportunity to camp near the river and enjoy a great comfortable campground. This Arkansas campground has everything you need for a great camping trip. 

Tyler Bend Campground -  Buffalo National River

Tyler Bend Campground is located in the Middle River region of Buffalo National River. This small campground is located next to the great Buffalo National River. 

There is a day use pavilion, easy access to a boat launch, and great fishing for small mouth bass, catfish and more. 

Number of Sites:  10 walk-in and 28 drive-in sites

Location in the park: Near the Tyler Bend Visitor Center, Middle River Region

Campsite Cost:

Fees for the walk-in sites and drive-in sites (non-electric) are $20 a night for up to 6 people per site.

Fees for the Group Tent Only Area (non-electric) are $50 a night for 10 to 25 people per group site.

The facility is available for camping free of charge outside of the reservation season (generally November 15th to March 14th every year).

Park Entrance Fees: $0.00 there is no fee to visit the park. 

Planning a National Park vacation? America the Beautiful/National Park Pass covers entrance fees for an entire year to all US National Park Sites and over 2,000 Federal Recreation Fee Sites.

The park pass covers everyone in the car for per vehicle sites and for up to 4 adults for per-person sites.

Buy on REI.com and REI will donate 10% of pass proceeds to the National Forest Foundation, National Park Foundation and the U.S. Endowment for Forestry & Communities.

Reservations: Yes, some sites are on Recreation.gov

Half of the main loop drive-in sites (2 - 13) and half of the walk-in tent only sites (A - E) will be available for reservation

Accessible Sites: We did not see any sites marked accessible. 

Pets Allowed: Pets are allowed. They must be on a leash less than 6 feet long.

How Far Ahead can you make a reservation? Individual sites at this campground operate on a 6-month rolling basis

Dump Station: Yes,  A dump station and tank filler is located near the park entrance at Highway 65

Bear Boxes: No

Flush Toilets: Yes

Showers: restroom in the drive-in loop provides showers

Payphone: No

Is wifi available? No 

Is cellular Phone Service Available? Yes, most carriers have some service. We had service down by the river but not in the campground with T-mobile. 

Is camp host available on site? Unknown, there was no camp host during our visit. 

Is firewood available for purchase? No

Amenities at each campsite: 

Fire pit in the site? Yes

Picnic Table in the site? Yes

Potable Water? Yes

RV Camping at Tyler Bend Campground

Generators: Generators may only operate between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm.

How to get to Campground

From Springfield, Missouri take U.S. Highway 65 south for 109 miles; then turn right at Ranger Road (follow signs) and drive another 2 miles to visitor center and campground.

From Little Rock, Arkansas take Interstate 40 West for 34 miles, then exit "U.S. 65/Skyline Drive." From here continue on U.S. Highway 65 north for 74 miles and turn left at Ranger Road (follow signs) to the visitor center and campground.

 

Campground Regulations

The maximum number of people in a campsite: 6

The number of cars per campsite: 

Checkout time: 12pm

Quiet Hours: 10 pm to 6 am

Maximum Stay: Maximum length of stay in campground is 14 consecutive days.
