Many Glacier Campground
Many Glacier Campground is located on the east side of Glacier National Park, tucked into a mature forest of Douglas fir, lodgepole pine, and quaking aspen at an elevation of about 4,500 feet.
The dense vegetation gives most sites partial shade and a sense of privacy, even though the campground has 109 sites spread across multiple loops.
Just down the road from the historic Many Glacier Hotel, this campground puts you in one of the most scenic corners of the entire park, with sweeping views of peaks like Grinnell Point, Mount Wilbur, and Mount Allen rising up around you.
Swiftcurrent Creek and Swiftcurrent Lake are right nearby, and has ample wildlife viewing opportunities including moose, deer, mountain goats, grizzly and black bears, who are all regular visitors here.
Make sure your food is stored properly at all times and be bear aware when out hiking. This includes hiking in groups, making noise and you can also bring bear spary with you.
The trail access from this campground is hard to beat, with routes to Grinnell Glacier, Iceberg Lake, and Ptarmigan Tunnel all starting nearby. It is one of the most popular campgrounds in Glacier, and it fills up fast, so grab your reservation as early as you can.

Hi John,
My friends all have reservations for the lodge, however I much prefer to camp. I will bring my 13' Scamp Trailer. I am from Kalispell and plan on driving over to Many Glacier CG very early Sunday July 28th. If I arrive at 7AM, do I just stay in line till a site opens? What are your thoughts re my getting a site. I will be staying 4 nights. Would be super if I can find a pull through, as it is a real task to back the trailer into some sites.
Your input will be much appreciated.
Penny

Hi Park Ranger, John! This information is very helpful. I was wondering if you know which camp grounds allow primitive camping on in West Glacier in October?
