Dead Horse Point has some of the most spectacular views in the entire American Southwest!

Unsurprisingly, this is one of the most recognizable and most photographed scenic vistas in Utah.

Sunrise and sunset are equally impressive, and photographers will love taking photos during the golden hour as the canyon's colors are incredible, and you can get the feel of the depth of the canyon without the harsh light overhead.

If you are unable to find a campsite here make sure to check out Wingate Campground just down the road. The Kayenta Campground is located in the perfect location to simply take a hike on either the East Rim Trail or West Rim Trail for epic overlooks and views from Dead Horse Point State Park. You can also drive from the campground to the end of the park road and easily walk up to the overlooks looking down onto the Colorado River.

Dead Horse Point State Park is located just down the road from Canyonlands National Park. If camping is full at Dead Horse Point, check at Canyonlands Willow Flat Campground or the Devil's Garden Campground in Arches National Park.

Make sure to make sure you pack drinking water with you, as the state park does not have it available.
